Practicing God's Presence

For the last two days my devotional readings have included the last five chapters of Revelation.  The writer gives this wonderful description of heaven.  Really it seems that after his preview of heaven he is lost for words so he uses human words to describe the indescribable,  something that he cannot really comprehend. So what will heaven be like...I don't know but I do know that I will be able to worship the one who died for me "face-to-face" and that His very presence will illuminate everything.  And I am sure that what I will witness will beyond any words that I now know. What a celebration that will be; what a time of worship.  Until then we can practice His presence and worship Him everyday preparing for the "face-to-face."

I leave you with this quote from Jim Cymbala, Pastor or Brooklyn Tabernacle from His book Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire:

"If we don't want to experience God's closeness here on earth, why would we want to go to heaven anyway? He is the center of everything there. If we don't enjoy being in his presence here and now, then heaven would not be heaven for us. Why would he send anyone there who doesn't long for him passionately here on earth."

It only takes a moment…
