How many layers?

How many layers?

How many layers? This question can apply to cakes and running.

Cakes, when you want to get the right ratio of icing/filling to cake.

Running, when you need to stay warm on a cold day.

Tomorow morning is going to require multiple layers to stay warm. The forecast for a run tomorrow at 5:30 AM calls for the temp to be 16 and the wind chill to make it feel like 6. You can still run safely in these conditions if you put on layers, a few to keep the heat in and maybe one to keep the wind out.  I wrote a little more about running in cold weather here: It's Better Than A Treadmill.

The forecast may call for a cold tomorrow morning, but usually only for the 1st mile if you have the right layers on. And just think there will be hot coffee waiting for us at Bruegger's after the run.

The Breakfast Club meets at Fleet Feet at 5:30 am every Thursday morning. The route will be for 5 miles but there will be ways to adjust it if need to log less.

We will run the Zig Zag route tomorrow.
