Coming together for worship is for two reasons: to glorify God and to encourage the church.
Sunday’s coming, have we thought about preparing for our journey to the place of worship?
From the earliest pages of scripture God has instructed His people to gather as a group to worship Him. This week while listening to a recent sermon by David Platt I was reminded that God’s people were delivered from Egypt, led by Moses, so that they could worship. Not long after that event we find in Exodus 19:16 and following a gathering of God’s people where God revealed Himself and they worshiped.
Scenes of gathering for worship are repeated often in scripture and anything that is repeated in scripture must be important to God so it should be important to us.

Multiple services, in multiple venues on the same campus, require a regimented schedule: get people in the door, start on time, finish on time and then move them out so the next group can come in. From start to finish for us is 65 minutes. Most Sundays I wish it were longer. It is such a joy to see God’s people enjoying the conversation of worship and 65 minutes goes way too fast.

When planning worship services the worship staff at ClearView have at the forefront of their planning ‘fellowship’ with the Father. We desire that everything we plan encourages communication with Him, and therefore ‘fellowship.’ This Sunday Continue Reading…
There was a day when the church sang enthusiastically songs about heaven. Growing up it seemed that every worship service had at least one song that reminded believers of the promise of heaven. In recent years there seems to be a swing of the pendulum in the opposite direction, rarely do we sing songs of heaven. Part of the reason there are less songs sung about heaven is the resurgence in vertical worship or songs sung to God.
Is another reason we don’t sing songs about heaven is that we are comfortable with our life hear on earth? Can we really sing with honesty Continue Reading…
