Surround them in prayer

Sunday is a few hours away.

I often stop at this time of the week and ask “am I really prepared to meet God in worship?” As a worship leader that question can go in many directions: “is all the music in place?” “do we have gaps we need to cover in the technology teams?” “am I ready to lead?”

We…okay I take that back because I can only speak for myself…I often only think about my role, what I am going to do or have to do in worship.

And, I am wrong for that. Continue Reading…

The Thread In Worship

It is my hope that there is always a continual ‘thread’ of the gospel in our worship services. We want our services to be Christ-centered worship. As I looked over the words to the songs for tomorrow’s service I noticed the ‘thread.’ Here is what I saw. Continue Reading…

Riches I Heed Not?

Really…can I really say ‘riches I heed not?’

It seems I am always looking for resources to do “this or that” around my house. Or, “I wish I had more money to get a new set of golf clubs.” Or, I really would like some “new clothes.” Yes ladies guys make that last statement also.

I don’t like it because the words on the next to the last stanza are so convicting…riches I heed not…REALLY? Continue Reading…

Preparing for Worship: God You Are God

I know it is true, but I am working on letting the truth rule my actions.

Tomorrow in our worship services we will use the song “God You Are God” which encourages us with truth that God never changes. I have posted a video below. As an intro to the song I jotted down the following: Continue Reading…

A Look at the Christmas Story

For the last year our church has been looking at the life of Christ through the eyes of Apostle Luke and the accounts he recorded in the gospel that bears his name.

The gospel of Luke starts with the events leading up to and account of the birth of Christ.

It is these events by which all the activity around Christmas started.

As we have seen through the pages of Luke, Christmas is just a part of the story.

This video from the people of Gateway Church give us an overview of the life of Christ. It is an excellent way to put the miracle in perspective, showing us how God sent His Son, His Love, to save the world.

Take a look at this video as you begin to prepare for the events of Christmas and the opportunities to worship during this season. Continue Reading…
