More than once I have been faced with a position that needs to be filled in my organization. Before the search for the right person begins here are some things I think about:
- define the position
- list the three most important things the job must accomplish
- think through what a successful first 90 days would look like
- think through the personality type that might work best with the staff and position requirements
For me, defining the job, setting real exceptions for a WIN, is a must.
