Twenty-four hours later and my calves were screaming! After reading a few blogs and hearing some personal testimonies I purchased Vibram Five-Fingers, the Biklaki style a few weeks ago. I knew I had to slowly work my way into a distance run and I thought I had. I now realize that the ‘working-in’ period should have been longer. That three mile run at the end of the first week should have come at the end of the second week or maybe even the third.
Will I continue to run in the Vibram Five-Fingers? Absolutely. It feels more natural and I am able to run a little faster with a more efficient stride.
I am now into my 4th week of running in Vibram Five-Fingers and already I am looking to buy a second pair.
If you have tried barefoot running what was your ‘breaking in’ experience? Did your calves scream at you?
