Is silence loud? That question has been rattling around in my brain for the last week. It was Thursday of last week that I learned that I will have to go on complete vocal rest for 2 weeks. No talking, no whispering, no humming. What I have been wondering is when you are in silent mode is everything else louder. I guess I will find out in a few days. My doctor imposed silence begins this week on Friday. I have my pad of paper ready and I will let you know how loud silence is.
Obviously the following scripture came to mind when the voice rest was imposed.
There is an occasion for everything, and a time for every activity under heaven… A time to be silent and a time to speak…
